I have found it!

The Ricotta Cheesecake, I have finally found (and subsequently devoured) it!

Fantastic little Greek place I went to for a friends birthday today. Really lovely staff and a really comfy setting, my friend and I were eyeing the revolving plates of cakes behind the glass box straight from the beginning. Forget lunch, dessert here we come!!

There were about 2 dozen cakes on the menu, and it was quite difficult to decide which we wanted, and even after making everyone else choose ones that I myself wanted to eat, there were still some that were left out :(

Let's start with the..

Strawberry Cheesecake- Apparently this cake had won some International Gold Award for best cheesecake, and for good reason. Honestly, I have never had cheesecake that has had such a wonderfully smooth texture with the right amount of cake to topping ratio. 7.5/10

Baked Mars Bar cake- I guess it sounds a bit low brow, but this cake was AMAZING. The combination of cheesecake with mars bar is quite possibly the best match up since cheese and crackers. 9.5/10

Ricotta cheesecake- You know what, after the baked mars bar cake, the ricotta cake actually failed to deliver. It was amazng, different to other cheesecakes I've had, but was not the favourite of the day. The pastry base was also a little too thick and was not completely delicious. 8/10

The elusive cheesecake

For those of you who are already fans of the humble cheesecake, this will prove to be most exciting.

A friend of mine (M) directed me to the 'Italian Ricotta Cheesecake'. This was a good year or so ago. Since then, the cake has proved diffucult to locate in any are apart from the far-away land M referred to. For someone with no vehcle to travel in, this means a hot train ride, plus an over-crowded bus.

This post is to draw everyone's attention to the fact that the March Hare and Mad Hatter will endeavour to find and consume said cake soon. We welcome you to follow the quest.
Those baking-inclined are welcome to make their own versions and show us, but photos should come complete with detailed descriptions of taste.
